3 Wells

As we began this church in 2002, the Lord began speaking to us about three Ancient Spiritual Wells that the Moravians dug many years ago. Part of the purpose of Awake Church is to do our part in uncapping these wells so they flow in a greater fashion than ever before. The three wells are: prayer (intercession), worship and outreach (missions).

Shortly after the Lord showed us this, one of the founding men in our fellowship saw the three old wells in Bethabara, which was the first Moravian settlement in North Carolina. These photos are from Bethabara and are simply natural, symbolic reference points of the 3 spiritual wells that we are endeavoring to uncap.

Well of Prayer/Intercession:

Jesus provided prayer guidance for His disciples, saying:

"Pray, then, in this way:

'Our Father who is in heaven,

Hallowed be Your name.

Your kingdom come.

Your will be done,

On earth as it is in heaven.” Matt 6:9

The well of intercession is a place of agreement where believers pray for His kingdom to come in every realm of society. It’s a well that will flow as we request multitudes of laborers be sent into the harvest field, as we proclaim Heaven’s purposes be done in the earth, and when we use the authority we have through Jesus to push back darkness.

John 14:13 - "Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

John 15:7 - "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Well of Worship:

The well of worship is the place where believers live a lifestyle of worship to God. This is a well where worship emerges from our hearts in creative ways, lavishing our adoration and love upon the Lover of our souls with new songs, sounds, honesty and truth:

Ps 66:4

“All the earth will worship You,

And will sing praises to You;

They will sing praises to Your name."

John 4:23-24

"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.”

Rev 15:4

ALL THE NATIONS WILL COME AND WORSHIP BEFORE YOU,

FOR YOUR 1 C RIGHTEOUS ACTS HAVE BEEN REVEALED."

Well of Outreach:

The well of outreach/missions is where the fresh waters of the “good, glad merry news that causes a person to leap for joy” flow out of our lives and into the hearts of the lost in our city and around the world. We have been commissioned to release the kingdom of heaven, bringing the cool, refreshing waters of salvation to the millions who are currently separate from the enjoyment of God.

Through demonstrating the love of God, the power of His Spirit and releasing the encouragement of heaven, this mission well will spill over through creative and loving ways that connect the lost to Jesus and bringing them into the family of God.

Mark 16:15-18

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will B speak with new tongues; they will A pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

Rom 10:15
